Michael Soo inherited the family home he grew up in. While he had an emotional attachment to the house, due to health issues he wanted to sell it off market and relocate to Florida.
Selling the family home after the death of a parent is never easy. But for Michael Soo, it was especially challenging. He not only grew up in the house and had many fond memories, but he was also living there with his dad at the end of his life. Due to Michael’s own medical conditions he needed to relocate and selling off-market seemed like the right solution. Bay Reach Homes was happy to purchase the home for fair market value and allow Michael the extra time he needed to clear out the furnishings and other possessions that he couldn’t take with him.
The makeover
Situated in a desirable area of Oakland, the 2700 sq. ft house has 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths. To make it more appealing to today’s buyers, Bay Reach Homes improved the flow in the main living areas by making the living room, dining room and family room work in harmony with the new open kitchen. Bathrooms were completely remodeled and we also reworked the master suite. The 9000 sq ft lot allowed us to enhance the landscaping, and we added a deck and fire pit for sophisticated outdoor entertaining.
After seeing his remodeled family home listed online Michael wrote us: “Curtis, what a wonderful job you’ve done with my family house! My mother would have loved the kitchen, and my father would have enjoyed the overall renovation. The landscaping is also impressive. Well done!”
