When this 70’s era home was offered to Bay Reach Homes, we recognized its “good bones” and potential to become something fabulous. We purchased the property “as-is” and set out to turn it into a modern gem. Having had minimal maintenance over the years, the 2 bedroom, 2 bath home was badly in need of upgrading, inside and out. The Story: A Bay Reach Homes renovation goes far beyond cosmetic changes. Case in point: our project on Clarendon Crescent Rd., in the coveted Crocker Highlands neighborhood. We created a well thought out plan for transforming it into a 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath luxury home with the amenities desired by today’s homeowners.
From outdated home to luxury living
The top to bottom renovation began with structural and seismic upgrades, new plumbing and electrical systems, and efficient cooling zoning system. New windows, doors and hardwood flooring were installed; new finishes and fixtures were added throughout.
The lower level, originally just a laundry room and storage, was turned into a large family room leading out to a patio, a guestroom and exercise room. Two bedrooms, spacious living/dining rooms and open chef’s kitchen occupy the first floor. We increased the size of the house without changing the footprint by opening up the attic and creating a primary bedroom suite on the top floor, bringing it to nearly 3200 sq ft.
The outdoor transformation
The property’s unusually deep backyard wasn’t usable. To remedy that, we brought in truckloads of dirt to level the yard, fully landscaped it, and added a pergola, fully equipped kitchen, fountain, and gas fire pit designed for the ultimate in outdoor living.
The buyers, a couple with two children who were relocating here from the Midwest, were thrilled to find their Bay Area dream home in Crocker Highlands.
