After the success of 741 McKinley, word got around, and a neighbor from across the street approached me about his property which he was interested in selling. This home was built in 1925, and in disrepair and we were happy to take on another property and put our thumbprint on this sunny and vibrant Oakland neighborhood. The classic home had great natural light and architectural features, but needed some updates to the overall flow. The center and focal point to this project was the kitchen which when completed improved both the flow we needed inside and outside the home. By opening up and enlarging this space it helped to improve nice gathering areas for entertaining. A pass through was also created from the formal dining room, which opened up the space. A sliding glass door from the kitchen and mater suite and a wrap-around deck adjoined by a newly converted garage into a great studio/office with a wet bar open to the back yard creates a courtyard feel to an incredible backyard for entertaining and family fun.
